Kirkwood Camp and Retreat Center is Philadelphia Presbytery's neat "paradise in the woods," located at Stroudsburg in the Poconos.

Kids in grade 1 - 12 spend time as summer campers with other campers their age and with one or more counselors. Their experience will include Bible study, worship, and outdoor activities.   And this year, Kirkwood will use its own curriculum, written expressly for the needs of our campers.
Programs this year include:
Beginners Camp - This one-half week session is for those entering 2nd and 3rd grades.

Parent & Child Camp for children entering 1st through 3rd grades - this 3-day, 2-night camp is ideal for the child that prefers to first experience camp with a parent or grandparent along.  Grandparents are encouraged to participate.
Traditional Camp - campers experience swimming, crafts, archery, low initiative challenge course, high ropes course, riding the rapids, Bible study, games, worship and campfires.  Themed traditional camps this year are Sports and Mission.
Night Owl Camp - This camp has become more popular than ever!  Campers and their counselors participate in activities until the wee hours of the morning, sleep until noon, and have breakfast when others would normally have lunch. This year, the entire camp will be Night Owl for the week!
Adventure Camps - three one-week trips are offered for canoeing or hiking in regions including the Adirondacks and the Delaware River.
Joy of Creation Camp - This popular one-week session for 4th grade through senior high focuses on the creative arts.

The Camp brochures is available at the Kirkwood web site, www.kirkwoodcamp.org, where an on-line registration tool is available.  Specific questions can be directed to the Kirkwood office at Presbytery -- (215) 732-1842 .

Kirkwood's Mission

Kirkwood's mission is to strengthen the Church of Jesus Christ by enabling children, youth, families, and adults to begin or deepen their experience of God in the context of nature and a caring Christian community centered on the word of God.

Nestled in a hidden valley in the foothills of the Pocono Mountains near Stroudsburg, PA, Kirkwood is a beautiful 286 acre sanctuary with meadows, woodlands with abundant wildlife. Mountain Ridges and Big Pocono Creek punctuate the serene beauty of Kirkwood.

Accredited by the American Camp Association, Kirkwood offers a full range of summer camp experiences for all ages, including traditional camps, arts camps, and adventure camps. We work closely with Chester Eastside Ministries and John Gloucester Houses' City Camp program. We also offer a variety of fall, winter, and  spring retreats and events for youth and families. Our facilities are available for rent to churches and other non-profit groups September through May. Come experience autumn foliage or the emerging spring with Maple Sugaring. How about an inexpensive Ski Retreat? Kirkwood's winter beauty is estounding.
